Marui is not hard to notice when you're looking at the team of regulars from Rikkaidai. Not only does he sport bright, pink hair and striking violet eyes, he also chews gum religiously. Apple bubble gum, to be exact. Marui is a serve and volley specialist on Nationals level, who is actually more of a doubles player beside his pal, Jackal Kuwahara. Marui's skills in serve and volley are far greater than Jirou's, and Jirou is already a force to be reckoned with! Marui can play both offense and defense when time calls for, and he has some pretty... interesting gravity-defying moves. Anything he hits (at the right angle) can either "Tight rope walk" across the net or hit the metal pole, landing right on the opponents' side, at the net. Yes, he's quite proud of himself, and proudly proclaims himself a genius (though, only Jirou seems to think that). Even though he's seen eating sweets all the time, he's not actually hyper like Jirou. In fact, the whole reason why he intakes sweets is because it enhances his level of play.
